Lincoln Chafee

Lincoln Chafee served as a U.S. Senator from 1999 until 2006, when he narrowly lost his re-election bid to Sheldon Whitehouse.  He is currently a visiting scholar at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International Studies.

 

Peter Christ

After a twenty--year career enforcing drug laws as a police captain, Peter Christ founded Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP). He tours the country educating police officers and the public why "the drug war can never be won” and why he strongly believes “it is doing more harm than good."

 

David C. Lewis

Dr. Lewis is a Professor of Medicine and Community Health and the Donald G. Millar Distinguished Professor of Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University.   Dr. Lewis is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Medical School.  Trained in internal medicine, he is now a fellow of the American College of Physicians.  He is a member of the board of directors of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, the Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse, and the Drug Policy Alliance.

 

Ethan Nadelmann

The Executive Director of Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) and a recent guest on The Colbert Report, Ethan Nadelmann is an expert on drug policy in America.  He received his BA, JD, and Ph.D from Harvard University and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics.

 

Daniel Pinchbeck

Daniel Pinchbeck’s acclaimed Breaking Open the Head explores the practice of shamanism in the Ecuadorian Amazon.  His articles have been published in The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Arthur, Wired, The Village Voice, and numerous other publications.

 

Thomas Slater

Thomas Slater has served as a Rhode Island State Representative since 1995.  In 2005, he introduced and helped pass Medical Marijuana legislation in Rhode Island.
